How Fast is Your Computer? Using computer daily for any kind of work will eventually slow down your machine, no matter how outstanding it's initial performance was. Installing, uninstalling software, browsing the web will generate a lot of files or registry entries needed for some processes, but after they are no longer needed they will still be there, slowing your computer down. Therefore, to prevent the slowness of your system and to keep it in top shape, maintenance is a must on regular basis.
Wise Registry Cleaner's main purpose is to find and dispose any unnecessary extra entries from windows registry, which it performs fairly fast considering how many files it scanned during our tests. It can clean dozens of categories, showing no effort whatsoever just to ensure that your computer runs at peak efficiency. It's exceedingly easy to use, initially designed to suit both novice and advanced users.
The main screen is divided onto two main areas, tree based category menu on the left side and entries window on the right where you can see all scanned entries and details about them. For each error individually program will show you several things including Root Key, Sub Key, Value, Data and the category that entry belongs to just to help you to determine which entries should be kept and which ones should be removed permanently. It's easier said than done, however Wise Registry Cleaner has one thing that should help some users easier to determine entries to be removed. It has the ability to flag registry entries and separate "safe to fix" from "not fully safe to fix" ones. Basically this means that Wise Registry Cleaner can differ potential problematic entries that can harm your system from those that can be freely deleted. Just to mention, all the entries that are marked as a "not fully safe to fix" have the same reason why are flagged. It seems that for those entries "Specified program identifier does not exist".
Thus regardless of the choice you make and just to eliminate the risk of losing data this tool comes fully equipped with the inevitable option to back up the current state of the registry. We advise you to create safe backup every time before scanning to prevent losing any important stuff from the registry. You can do it upon the first start, or if you accidentally forget, this is very important, Wise Registry Cleaner will do it for you automatically before any changes are done. Therefore you should not be worried, if needed, in case something goes wrong you can easily restore registry to a previous state.
Categories section is rather versatile than poor, as we mentioned earlier it can wipe dozens of categories including ActiveX/COM (Invalid CLSID, Invalid TypeLib, Invalid Interface, Invalid Paths) , Software section (All User, Current User) , Application Paths, File Types, Help Files, Fonts, Shared DLL, User MRU Lists, Uninstall Section, Start Menu, Startup Program, Sound and AppEvents, IE Url History, Image File Execution Option, Empty Keys and Applications. Pretty nice list, and more importantly you can include or exclude any category you wish from the scanning.
As usual when it comes to testing of this type of software, during our tests we showed no mercy and pushed Advanced SystemCare to the limits to see will it break. We have deliberately imposed Photoshop CS4 and some lighter tools loading to see how will Wise Registry Cleaner stand the pressure. It handled it fairly well, scans are surprisingly fast, there were no oscillations during the process and we noticed only a slight difference.
Although Wise Registry Cleaner is not that much flexible, it's simple and to the point made tool. Anyway it has some additional features you can use. You have the possibility to put as many entries as you want to exclusion list if you want to exclude them from scanning. Also there is Optimization tool option which can help you boost PC speed. Unfortunately we were unable to test this option since it's not available in trial version.
Graphic interface of Wise Registry Cleaner does not look as the developer's best effort. While some parts are professional, neatly done other parts are somehow, let's just say different. In main toolbar some icons are nice and shiny while rest of them look somehow old, from previous program version. Same is for text, some text looks smooth while other is fine and that's basically it. Wise Registry Cleaner really needs a little more face lifting.
All in all, this is simple, reliable tool, it does the job easily while working at high speed, and we did not see any big drawback on its functionality. Therefore, if you are seeking for a tool to wipe your registry, give it a shot, try this one out.
